Inspired by the great photos made by Fred Kruijen, I visited this location during an overnight trip to the eastern Vulkan Eifel. It is a very nice area, with interesting geo paths explaining all aspects of the Maria Laach Vulkan area. And the minerals (Blue Hauÿn, yellow Titanite) over there are beautiful. Even Topaz can be found. To the north-west of the Wingertsberg wand there is another Bims quarry with interesting mineralisation.
