Oberaar is a great place to be. You cannot be further away from the beaten path in this part of the high Alpes… It has free and neat camper space and an expensive Hotel (with good hot choco), but beware the road is difficult and in bad weather even dangerous. When too cloudy it is better to visit the mineral museum in Guttannen. What a great collection of Smokey Quartz and Pink Fluorite! Behind the Oberaar lake there is a great glacier with beautiful blue ice. And minerals! I only show the micros.
